Setting up and signing in using the Microsoft Authenticator app

Learn how to set up and sign in using app codes or notifications on your mobile device. There are four ways to sign in to Sask Polytech using passwords, codes, PINs or touch. Everyone must create a password and will be required to set up a second option at first sign-in. The technical term for this process is called multi-factor authentication (MFA). Having multiple sign-in options provides better password recovery and crucial account security.

Requirements Audience Cause
A valid Sask Polytech account, mobile device with the ability to download the Microsoft Authenticator app. Must have a previous sign-in (MFA) method set up prior, and adding the app as a secondary or alternative method. Students, employees.
  • Changed my phone number
  • Can't receive text codes (SMS)
  • International service provider does not work in Canada
  • Prefer app to receiving text codes (SMS)
